Our buckwheat honey is a specialty for lovers of strong honeys. Migratory beekeeper Remo Bunge places his colonies in the expansive buckwheat fields of the Prignitz region during the summer. During the flowering period in July and August, the bees collect the intense nectar, which produces a distinctive honey.
Buckwheat honey is dark brown to almost black and has a strong, malty, spicy aroma with a light caramel note. Its intense fragrance is reminiscent of earth and hay—precisely what makes it a honey for connoisseurs. It's perfect for refining savory dishes, dark sauces, or hearty bread, but is also a unique delight on its own.
