Product description

Compact precision meets elegant design – the Güde Alpha Walnut paring knife (6 cm)

The paring knife from Güde's Alpha Walnut series is a handcrafted masterpiece of Solingen-based blacksmithing. With its short, curved blade, it's ideal for peeling, cleaning, and processing fruit and vegetables. The combination of high-quality steel and fine walnut wood represents outstanding functionality and timeless elegance.

Highlights of the knife:

Hand-forged quality
The 6 cm long blade is forged from a single piece of stainless chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, ice-hardened, and hand-sharpened for maximum sharpness and a long service life.

Ergonomic walnut handle
The American walnut handle sits comfortably and securely in the hand. Three sturdy rivets—two made of stainless steel and one signature aluminum palm rivet—connect the blade and handle reliably and stylishly.

Güde knife manufacturing

Over a century of craftsmanship – The history of Güde

The Güde story begins in 1910, when master knife grinder Karl Güde founded the manufactory in Solingen. At a time when Solingen was home to over 9,000 small craft businesses, Güde focused on the highest quality and craftsmanship from the very beginning. His son, Franz Güde, took over the manufactory in 1923 and continued to run it according to his father's quality standards. He developed new grinds and grinding processes, including the famous Güde serrated edge, which is still used in all of the company's bread knives today.

Since the 1980s, the manufactory has been run by Dr. Karl Peter Born, the founder's great-grandson, in the fourth generation. Under his leadership, Güde remains true to traditional manufacturing techniques, combining them with modern designs and innovative materials. The knives continue to be handcrafted in small batches and enjoy an excellent reputation among professional chefs and knife enthusiasts worldwide.
