Product description

Gift set – Cutting with style: Güde herb knife Shark (14 cm) with walnut/beech wood board

With the Shark herb knife from the Alpha Walnut series, Güde brings a true gem to your kitchen. Crafted in Solingen—the home of high-quality cutlery—this knife impresses with its precise craftsmanship, elegant design, and impressive functionality. Whether parsley, basil, or chives—the extra-wide blade allows you to weigh and chop herbs effortlessly and precisely.

Highlights of the knife:

  • Elegant design & craftsmanship: The curved, 14 cm blade is forged from a single piece of stainless chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, ice-hardened, and hand-sharpened for maximum sharpness and durability. The finely grained walnut handle sits comfortably in the hand and gives the knife a warm, natural look.
  • Functional & balanced: The wide blade shape is ideal for weighing and chopping herbs, nuts, and other ingredients. Perfectly balanced, the knife ensures fatigue-free work.
  • High-quality materials: X50CrMoV15 blade steel guarantees stability, rust resistance, and excellent edge retention. Three elegant rivets—two made of stainless steel and the signature aluminum palm rivet—securely connect the blade and handle.

The walnut/beech wood board:

Crafted in Serbia, this cutting board combines walnut and beech wood in beautiful, natural tones. Each piece is unique due to its grain. Finished with food-grade oil, it not only impresses with its aesthetic appeal but also with its durability.

Güde knife manufacturing

Over a century of craftsmanship – The history of Güde

The Güde story begins in 1910, when master knife grinder Karl Güde founded the manufactory in Solingen. At a time when Solingen was home to over 9,000 small craft businesses, Güde focused on the highest quality and craftsmanship from the very beginning. His son, Franz Güde, took over the manufactory in 1923 and continued to run it according to his father's quality standards. He developed new grinds and grinding processes, including the famous Güde serrated edge, which is still used in all of the company's bread knives today.

Since the 1980s, the manufactory has been run by Dr. Karl Peter Born, the founder's great-grandson, in the fourth generation. Under his leadership, Güde remains true to traditional manufacturing techniques, combining them with modern designs and innovative materials. The knives continue to be handcrafted in small batches and enjoy an excellent reputation among professional chefs and knife enthusiasts worldwide.
