Product description

Iron pan with hand-forged handle and counter handle and hand-forged spatula.

This small village blacksmith shop has existed since 1648 and in 2016 Florian Arberl decided to operate the blacksmith shop under the Thalyz brand and not just forge pans.

Crafting an iron pan requires skill and experience. First, high-quality iron is heated until glowing red. Then, the iron is rounded and formed in a die, and holes are punched for handles. After forging the handle, it is slowly cooled and strengthened in an annealing furnace. Following this, it is cleaned and sanded to a smooth surface. The counter-handle and handle are then assembled, and the pan is quality-tested and finished. Each pan is unique from the Thalyz forge. This high-quality pan combines tradition and craftsmanship to offer you a first-class cooking experience. You will also receive a hand-forged spatula for conveniently turning your dishes.

The pan is made of high-quality iron, which is characterized by its excellent heat conductivity. This ensures that your dishes are heated evenly and efficiently, ensuring optimal cooking results. The iron also reacts to temperature changes, allowing you to control the heat precisely as needed.

The counter handle and the forged handle not only give the pans a rustic charm, but also offer a comfortable and secure grip.

Versatile:

This iron skillet is ideal for frying, braising, searing, and more. You can use it on various stovetops, including gas, electric, induction, and even in the oven.

The pan has a rim diameter of approx. 26 cm and a base diameter of approx. 20 cm with a rim height of approx. 4 cm.

Experience the joy of cooking with this cast-iron skillet with a counter-handle. Its combination of quality, tradition, and functionality makes it a must-have in every kitchen. Order your gift set today and discover the world of cooking at the highest level.

Interesting facts about the product

Thalyz iron pans – hand-forged pans from Bavaria

Heat-resistant, uncompromising, made for generations

In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, at the foot of the Bavarian Alps, Thalyz creates iron pans of exceptional quality. With dedication, expertise, and true craftsmanship, the manufacturer forges products that are not only functional but also make a true statement in the kitchen. Thalyz iron pans are made for cooks who value natural materials, durability, and perfect frying results.

Products & Manufacturing – Iron meets craftsmanship

The centerpiece of the range: pans made of 3 mm thick wrought iron, with or without wooden handles, optionally with a hooked handle or two handles. They are completely uncoated, have a natural scale layer, and – unlike other iron pans – do not require seasoning. This means they're ready for use right away and offer an authentic frying experience from the very first moment.

Each Thalyz pan is carefully handcrafted by metal designer and blacksmith Florian Aberl, who crafts each piece with utmost precision in his workshop. The range is complemented by woks, spatulas, and baking steels – all under the motto: "A good tool is half the kitchen."

The history of Thalyz – blacksmithing since 1815

The roots of Thalyz's blacksmithing tradition go back a long way: The Aberl family's blacksmith shop has been located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen since 1815. The current generation—led by Florian Aberl—ushered in a new era with the founding of the Thalyz brand in 2016. The name represents a return to the essentials: durable, honest products made by hand and created through decades of experience in metalworking.

The philosophy is clear: no rushed products, no disposable goods – but rather durable companions for the kitchen, made from natural raw materials in a sophisticated manufacturing process. Here, craftsmanship meets everyday practicality – a promise of quality that you can see, feel, and taste.
